1 Frequently asked questions
1.1 Do you cut keys?

We cut keys such as door keys for mortice and latch locks.  We provide this service while you wait.  We also offer discounts on duplicates of multiple keys.  It is always best to ring the store and speak to someone if you think you have a complex requirement.  

 

1.2 Do you deliver?

Local Delivery offered is local to Scarborough North Yorkshire, England, UK (within a 8km radius of our bricks & mortar store).  

At present we can only ship small items, and less than 2kg to locations in the UK.  Please email to check before placing your order. 

If we can send it it will be second class service unless differently stated.  

If a next day or 1st Class delivery service is offered this does not mean you will receive it the next day, as our fulfilment process may take a couple of days, however it does means we will pay the courier for a 1st class or next day service 

If a refund has to be raised due to ordering items for local delivery or click and collect and the order can not be fulfilled due to you choosing the wrong shipping option (eg you are not local) you will be charged a fee and a full refund will not be given.

1.3 Do you ship outside of the UK?

At the moment no we do not.  We only ship within the UK.

1.4 Do you mix paint colours?

We are a dulux stockiest and have their paint machine.  This means we can colour match using the colour scanning system and we can mix paint to 100's different colours.

1.5 What day's you open over the festive period?

We close at 3pm on 24th December.  Reopen on 29th December.  Then we are closed 1st and 2nd January.

Some stores make a big song and dance about giving their staff time off on Boxing Day but as you will see we give our staff plenty of time off during the festivities to spend time with family and friends.  That's what you get with a local family managed business. Now that's Handy.

1.6 Are you open Sundays?

We are open Sundays in March through to the end of December.  The hours are 10:00am to 4:00pm. 

1.7 Do you have any job vacancies?

At the moment we are fully staffed.  We do have vacancies from time to time, and it is always worth dropping a CV into store stating how you can help us to give great customer service.  Please address your CV, which needs really showcase your skills, to [email protected]  Thank you for your interest.

1.8 Is it worth joining your loyalty scheme?

Yes it is.  Our loyalty scheme rewards you with points every time you spend.  The points accrue and the rewards include money off and discounts.  We have customers that are accruing points and regularly cashing them in for £5, £10, £20 off their shopping.  In addition you can use the points for discounts off ranges of products.  The rewards regularly change so we recommend checking the great app that shows you how many points you have and the rewards you can cash them in for.  

 

All we need is your email address and mobile number.  This is important as it enables us to let you know about any changes to the scheme.

1.9 Are dogs allowed?

We are a dog friendly store but we would add a couple of provisos as we often have a our own dogs in store and so your dog may sense this.   Dogs must be kept on a short lead, any mess or damage must be cleaned up and damaged paid for.  

We love dogs especially well behaved pooches that like a stroke!
